Horologium Opens Pre-Orders for "Vitality"

Horologium is the work of Grzegorz Siedlecki, active since 2004, traversing a sonic spectrum that fuses Dark Ambient and Martial Industrial, enriched by an experimental approach and a pronounced orchestral dimension. Samples, processed voices, sound collage, noise and orchestration intertwine into an opaque, immersive, hermetic maelstrom and apocalyptic and ceremonial atmospheres held at the threshold of abstraction and pure emotional experience.

A solar vitalism unfolds, in which rays become blades, illuminating as much as they pierce.

Mithraism, heliolatry, Orphism, Greek chthonism, and imperial Stoicism are among the thematic currents that permeate this new Horologium album. A solar vitalism unfolds, in which rays become blades, illuminating as much as they pierce. This vitalism is also shaped by a dark tropism, echoing Bataille’s conception of life as excess, Nietzsche’s will to power, and a form of solar wisdom, understood as an energetic flux that irrigates and structures the world.

Vitality is a numinous album, at once energetic and unsettling, ritualistic and sensory in nature, inviting awakening and a controlled integration of vital and cosmic forces, our bodies appearing as cosmic receptacles.

Recorded and mixed at Cella Superior, Zielona Góra, between August 2024 and September 2025, with artwork and layout by Bogusart.

"Vitality" opens for pre-order August 30th: CD Digipack + d, Gladivs Records’ In Illo Tempore collection, 100copies pressed.

Gr4v1 Opens the Gate to "0"

Gr4v1 is Alberto Casu and Giovanni Santagostino, working in the register of bass, drums, and drones — an instrumental project built entirely without vocals, where the absence of a human voice becomes its own kind of statement. Five tracks, twenty-seven minutes.

Blurred outlines of form, unstable transformations of the real, connected / disconnected, annihilated or augmented… Instrumental, these strange compositions — from which the human voice has been erased — sweat a machinic anxiety where industrial weight crosses paths with a viscous ambient and an abstract, dystopian sound design.

That anxiety isn't accidental. "0" was conceived as a threshold rather than a beginning — a gate standing before the signal, before the noise... Absence and presence, a beginning and a collapse, sit side by side without resolving into either.

Sonically, the record draws its coordinates from a familiar constellation without imitating any single point in it — Akira, Tetsuo, Blade Runner, Stalker, Neuromancer — cinema and literature that treat the body and the machine as unstable categories. Musically, Gr4v1 sits closer to Godflesh and Scorn: weight over speed, texture over hooks.

What separates "0" from a purely electronic record is its hybridity. Casu and Santagostino recorded bass and drums live at Toxic Basement Studio, then let the electronics — built entirely by Gr4v1 — fold that organic material into something synthetic.

Pre-orders for "0" open August 29th: cassette, seventy copies pressed for Gladivs Records' Brümes collection, EUR 11.90.

A Poem Nobody Read: Day Before Us and Antikatechon Open “Eene helle- en hemelvaart”

On September 3rd, 1881, a Dutch weekly published a cycle of ten sonnets by a twenty-two-year-old poet named Jacques Perk. He was dead by November. The cycle was called Eene helle- en hemelvaart — a journey through hell and heaven — and it has never, in the hundred and forty-five years since, been translated into any language.

On August 29th, pre-orders open for a record that carries its name.

Eene helle- en hemelvaart is the sixth release in Brümes, the collection of Gladivs Records given over to the liminal — and the second collaboration between Day Before Us and Antikatechon. Day Before Us is Philippe Blache, working with Mariel de Laforé; Antikatechon is Davide Del Col. Both projects set out in 2011–2012 on the Polish label Rage in Eden, which is a coincidence worth pausing on: two artists, one in France and one in Italy, beginning in the same catalogue and arriving fifteen years later at the same poem. Their first shared work, Complaintes au bord d’un autre monde, appeared in 2020 and established a common language between them. This is what that language sounds like now that it has something to say.

What it has to say comes from Perk. He was the inaugural figure of the Tachtigers, the Dutch movement of 1880 that broke with the moral verse of the pastors and replaced it with something radically personal — Kloos’s famous formulation, the most individual expression of the most individual emotion. Perk got there first and died before the movement he started had a name. Inside Dutch letters he is canonical. Outside them he is effectively invisible.

His cycle is built in two movements. An infernal descent, traversed by impossible love and by suffering. Then, mirroring it, a celestial ascension in which that pain is sublimated into poetry. Perk hung Greek and Latin epigraphs over the sonnets — a signal, largely overlooked since, that what he was writing was a katabasis in the classical sense, the descent into the underworld that Virgil and Homer had made before him. It is a topography of the soul as much as a mythological itinerary. Dante, Virgil, Orpheus are in it — not by citation, but by inner architecture.

That architecture is what Blache, de Laforé and Del Col have set to sound. Eight tracks run from Opening the Gates to Ascent to the Empyrean, with The Mist and Walking Forevermore on the Floods of Regrets between them. Piano, organ, synth, noise and programming from Blache; synth, samples, e-guitar, treated field recordings from Del Col; vocals and narratives from de Laforé. The conceptual text is drawn from Perk’s verses, freely adapted through Dante as mediator — which is the only honest way to reach a poem you cannot read.

The record was recorded, mixed and arranged between October 2024 and December 2025, mastered by Giuseppe Verticchio, laid out by Angela Caro, and dressed in paintings by Ivan Aivazovsky — flood and shipwreck, drained to grey, the sea as a place where light and drowning are the same event.

There is a version of this record that would have been easier to make. Dante is available in every bookshop in Europe; a descent-and-ascent concept album could have been built on the Commedia without leaving the vernacular. Choosing Perk instead — a text unreachable beyond its language of origin, by an author almost nobody has read — says something about what this record is for. It is not an album leaning on a celebrated text recycled into sound. It is a resurgence.

Pre-orders open August 28th: 3-panel CD digisleeve and digital, three hundred copies pressed for the Brümes collection of Gladivs Records, one hundred and sixty of them for sale, EUR 13.90.

EÔS unveils his debut album.

EÔS — goddess of the dawn in Greek mythology — is a name that fits like a glove for this duo, who reveal themselves through a debut album made up of eight delicate compositions (three with vocals and five acoustic).

Firmly rooted in Dark Folk and a post-Romantic expression, the compositions nevertheless exude fragrances reminiscent of the Neo-folk / Black Metal band Agalloch, while the exalted vocals at times evoke David Tibet.

Bathed in a bittersweet softness, nature is portrayed as a vessel for human melancholy and forgotten truths. The fleeting condition of our existence blends with the autumnal and forested landscape.

These introspective and evocative pieces sketch a poetic ideal in which Beauty, in all its mystery, becomes an ideal to be pursued: EÔS is a kind of soundtrack to the poetry of John Keats.

A truly beautiful invitation to contemplation, to solitude as a source of renewal, and to stepping aside from the well-trodden path followed by the masses.

ChindiWolf unveils his debut album: Myself

A self-portrait soaked in vitriol and hefty swigs of bourbon, Myself is ChindiWolf’s debut album. A steppe-wolf’s confession, raw and uncompromising, firmly rooted in the Dark Country and Western Gothic scene.

Each track stands on its own while maintaining a strong stylistic coherence. Myself draws from a wide range of influences, from Jay Munly to Lee Hazlewood (If I Were), with touches of Neo-folk, echoes of Spiritual Front (With the Devil’s Wife), and moments leaning toward Goth Rock, especially on Lost, somewhere between Sisters of Mercy and Ikon.

A disillusioned folk album filled with dark, cynical visions, Myself portrays a misanthropic crooner facing his fate. Songs of chaos, poison, ruins, apocalyptic promises, lust, and loneliness unfold beneath deceptively melodic arrangements. Behind the music lies a collection of bleak and vivid tales, sung by a sinister troubadour.

ChindiWolf embodies a strange balance of purity, freedom, and loyalty, blended with lone-wolf anthems and praises to the devil.
