Contre son - Infinity of Dreams

Fourth release in BRÜMES section.

11 tracks like so many dreams, 11 tracks of black beauty, that will carry you towards horizons that are sometimes uncertain, often charged with nostalgia, sometimes an almost futuristic touch permeates the sounds - nostalgia for the future or the permanence of the past that always kneads us? - all undeniably elegant. Emotional expression is given pride of place in a stylised form reminiscent of the aesthetics of Expressionism and Romanticism. With the opening track ‘Silent Words’ Contre son opens the door to a dizzying orchestral universe. Listening to it becomes a slow, contemplative, dreamlike descent. More concretely, the album is partly based on a classic duality between female polarities - whose vocals are one of the album's strong points - and male polarities - closer to declamation or a more narrative tone. Slow, machine-like rhythms structure the tracks, while haunting melodies distil a cold anguish beneath pulsating beats rich in echoes and reverberations... Infinity of Dreams is a sombre monument! But paradoxically, a kind of serenity is also present in the tracks on the album, a horizon of gentle splendour perhaps forgotten, the nostalgia of our childhood dreams, a tender heart to rely on and the friendly help of a friend's outstretched hand... Contre son is a duo of aesthetes with a talent for chiselling deep, spellbinding atmospheres, where the art of tension seems to be the driving force behind the album. An endless journey opens up before you...
